1. Choosing correct machines is the first step. For example, is you only have 2t material per hour, it’s will be a waste to use 4t per hour pellet machine. For the complete plant, the beginning processes should have bigger capacity. Correct choice of the machines in every process will save time, machine cost, electric energy, labor cost.
2. The gap between rollers and die is very important. The gap serious effect pellets density, surface and outward appearance. If the gap is too small the rollers can’t move, if the gap is too big, the pellets can’t come out, or come out slowly. The suitable gap will provide suitable pressure for the material and help get beautiful and qualified pellets.
3. Using die with suitable hole diameter and compression ratio. Excessively small holes will stuck the machine. The most common pellets diameter is 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm. In Europe the 6mm pellets sells best, while 10mm pellets process a little quickly. For different wood need different compression ratio, the common compression ratio is 3.5-7.5, client should choose the correct compression ratio for the material.
4. Adding oil and cleaning the machine frequently. Friction under pressure between rollers and die will wear and tear the die. Adding oil and cleaning the machine not only can keep the machine clean, but also protect the die – reduce the spare parts cost.
5. Uniform feeding will keep pellet machine works stable, while uneven feeding may stuck the machine, and making pellets uneven. If the capacity of the process before pelletizing is not equal with the pellet machine, have to use frequency conversion feeding or a hopper.
