Why we use wood pellets
There are several kinds of green energy, like solar energy, wind energy. Why we choose wood pellets for heating?First of all, the same as other kind of green energy, wood pellets are clean and recyclable. Solar and wind energy are limited, have to use them in particular place, even in the right place, these energy also effect by the weather. Wood pellets are very stable. They are easy to transport, and easy to be stored. Wood pellet stoves are cost effective and environmentally friendly. This can save a lot of cost compared to petroleum or propane.
Wood pellets have very few energy particles, very little ash is generated during combustion. This reduces carbon emissions. Wood pellets provide 9,000 BTU per pound, which makes them an energy-efficient fuel for heating. Today’s high-efficiency wood pellet boilers and stoves burn wood pellets at a rate of close to 95%. The speed of burning of curtain wood and other wood products is 70% to 80%. This makes wood pellets not only a green but also a efficient choice. 1 ton of wood pellets is approximately equal to 3 barrels of fuel oil.
The carbon footprint of wood particles is small. Wood absorbs as much carbon as it grows and releases carbon when burned. By recycling wooden waste, the need for newly harvested wood fibers is reduced. Existing forests can mature longer and absorb more fossil fuel carbon during their life cycle.
Energy pellets, especially the pellets made from wood waste, which is no longer useful in the human life. This makes wood pellets a source of renewable energy. The raw materials for the pellets come from untreated, waste wood. From there, the wood is broken down into sawdust and then pelletized under high pressure into fuel. Because wood pellets are densely packed and contain almost no water, the wood-burning pellets burn efficiently and cleanly.
Wood pellets can also be more cost-effective than heating them with curtain wood or wood chips. Because they are compressed wood fibers, the handling and transportation costs of wood pellets can be lower. Generally speaking, wood pellets are cheaper to distribute than wood chips.
